Huon Bush Retreats campground is not your average campground. We offer unpowered tent and campervan sites in an extensive habitat reserve with modern, spacious amenities, all the equipment you’ll need to cook up a storm, a five kilometre network of bushwalks and the opportunity for an outdoor bath under the stars.

Each tent site is private and surrounded by Huon Bush Retreat’s protected native forest. Separate campervan sites provide level parking for a comfortable nights sleep and are located close to amenities and are also surrounded by native bushland.

Ablution Block

Entertainment Area

Our amenities block is clean, modern and spacious. It is equipped with Natureloo composting toilets, hot showers and a laundry trough. The amenities block meets full wheelchair standards.

Camper’s Kitchen

Designed to take full advantage of fantastic mountainside views the mud brick outdoor entertainment area also boasts a well equipped kitchen with barbeque, full gas range, oven, basic utensils, crockery, cutlery and a fire drum (we supply firewood), eskies available on request (BYO ice). 

CampsiteTent Sites

  • Tent Site South is on a partly shaded knoll, 70 metres walk from he road, 2 minutes walk from the rest of the facilities.
  • Tent Site West is open and sunny walk in site 30 metres from the road, just one minute walk from the facilities and best suits small tents.
  • Tent Site East is open and sunny walk in site 30 metres from the road, just one minute walk from the facilities and is large enough for a family tent.
  • Car Camp site is accessible by car and is situated just two minutes walk from facilities. It is suitable for large family groups, camper trailer or friends wishing to camp close to each other.
  • Tent Site Central is a medium site accessible by car and is two minutes walk from the amenities.

Tent site East and West are connected via a 20 metre track and also suit friends travelling together

Campervan Sites

The van sites each have their own nook within the surrounding forest.

  • Campervan Site East is mid sized and sunny.
  • Campervan Site West is smaller and tucked into the forest.

Campervan SiteDue to council restrictions on the winding narrow road leading to HBR, we cannot allow caravans or very large RVs. However standard size campervans and camper trailers towed by a four wheel drive are fine.
